NORTH CAROLINA AND SOUTH CAROLINA. HIGH WIND WARNINGS ARE
CURRENTLY IN EFFECT ALONG COASTAL SECTIONS OF NORTH CAROLINA.
FLOOD WATCHES ARE CURRENTLY IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH
CAROLINA AND COASTAL SOUTH CAROLINA.
WIND ADVISORIES ARE CURRENTLY IN EFFECT ACROSS PORTIONS OF EASTERN

A SLOW MOVING AREA OF LOW PRESSURE...CURRENTLY LOCATED ABOUT 120
MILES SOUTHEAST OF MYRTLE BEACH SOUTH CAROLINA...IS EXPECTED TO
SLOWLY TRAVEL NORTH OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS. AS OF 9 PM EST
TUESDAY...WIND GUSTS OVER 60 MPH HAVE BEEN OBSERVED OVER EASTERN
SECTIONS OF NORTH CAROLINA. THE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE...IN
COMBINATION WITH STRONG HIGH PRESSURE CURRENTLY OVER THE UPPER
GULF COAST AND NEW ENGLAND...IS EXPECTED TO CREATE STRONG ONSHORE
WINDS. BEACH EROSION IS LIKELY TO OCCUR WHERE THE STRONGEST
ONSHORE WINDS COMBINE WITH ASTRONOMICAL HIGH TIDES ALONG COASTAL
REGIONS OF THE CAROLINAS.
COLD AIR WRAPPING AROUND THE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE HAS ALLOWED SOME
LIGHT SNOW AND SLEET TO MIX IN WITH THE RAIN OVER PORTIONS OF THE
DEEP SOUTH. WHILE NO SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS HAVE BEEN
REPORTED...NOR ARE THEY EXPECTED...BOTH CHARLESTON SOUTH CAROLINA
AND SAVANNAH GEORGIA RECORDED A TRACE OF SNOWFALL TUESDAY
MORNING...WHICH ACCORDING TO RECORDS DATING BACK TO 1930...IS THE
EARLIEST WINTER SEASON DATE ON WHICH SNOW HAS BEEN RECORDED.
DURING THE DAY ON TUESDAY...THUNDER SNOW WAS ALSO REPORTED AROUND
THE METROPOLITAN AREA OF CHARLESTON SOUTH CAROLINA...WHICH WAS THE
FIRST TIME IT HAS EVER BEEN REPORTED IN THAT AREA. AREAS FARTHER
